Tips for refreshing your garden

On cold mornings, we rarely think about the garden and how we could refresh and upgrade it in spring. But even though our thoughts currently drift more toward skiing, it is important to already start thinking a little about the ideas and improvements we will carry out in our garden in spring. The ideas can be merely aesthetic touch-ups or larger construction interventions. Likewise, refreshing the garden does not require heavy machinery, as even smaller additions, placed in the right spot, add new dimensions to the garden and bring in freshness. WASTE WOOD IS NOT FOR WASTE
Unique pieces of wood can become the centerpiece of your garden. Stumps, interesting trunks, etc. will preserve the garden’s natural look, while their shape will add greater variety. We can also build a woodpile from waste wood. In addition to its unique appearance, it will become a home for numerous beetles, spiders, snails, frogs, hedgehogs, etc. The animals will have a beneficial effect on your garden, as they will increase biodiversity and drive away pests. Around the woodpile, plant ferns, whose green color will beautifully complement the shades of the wood. We just need to make sure that the woodpile is not located in the immediate vicinity of the vegetable garden or other trees, as in exceptional cases, certain insects or fungi can cause damage.
DRIVE PESTS AWAY WITH A HOME PANTRY
When we tinker around in our vegetable gardens, we do not want pests to destroy our hard work. They are a nuisance that plagues every gardener. But as many gardeners as there are, there are just as many different tricks they use to drive away unwanted garden visitors.

- Wine vinegar, baking soda, and regular liquid soap are excellent remedies for fighting weeds. Some gardeners even swear by honey.
- To drive birds and animals away from their vegetables, we can stick plastic forks into the soil among them and thus protect our crops
- Many of them use eggshells to repel slugs
- Cinnamon is not only good as a spice, but is also suitable for repelling pests. Just sprinkle a little next to the crops and the job is done. The same is true for coffee.
With these tricks, you will make sure your spring vegetables are protected, while you enjoy the fruits of your labor.
