“Wood is beautiful”. The legendary Belinka advertisement, which has remained etched in our memory, not only because of its simplicity, but because of the message it conveys. It truly is beautiful. It is part of us, as we have been connected to it throughout our entire history.
But why should we have it in the garden? In fact, we believe that wood should be part of both exterior and interior architecture. However, since we are nevertheless carpenters of garden furniture, we will focus on the exterior part.

So, why do we believe that wood must be an essential part of every garden? There are 2 MAIN reasons!

1. It has a natural appearance

Strictlyfrom the perspective of landscape architecture, this is extremely important. Namely, who wants to have a cold metal garden? We dare say no one. Most people want to have a garden that calms us and evokes pleasant feelings in us.

Without wood, we will hardly achieve this, since a metal fence or pergola calms no one. Quite the opposite, it gives the garden too sterile and cold a feeling. It does not give the feeling of a warm home. Whereas wood certainly makes this possible.

Of course, we are not claiming that you now have to replace all the metal elements in the garden, we merely want to present the idea of wood in the garden and the feelings it brings.

The most sensible first step in introducing wood into the garden is therefore not a total renovation, but rather gradual introduction. A nice example of this is a wooden garden furniture set. A simple and practical solution that, in addition to functionality, will bring just the right amount of nature to your garden.

2. We are inseparably connected with Him

Throughout all of history, humans have been most connected to wood. Before concrete and metal, it was the main means of construction. People warmed themselves by it and used it to cook the food they had caught. It represented an irreplaceable part of survival.

This fact has been written into our genetic code. That is why we feel so at home. When we touch it, we are filled with warm feelings of happiness. When we sit around a wooden table with our family, we feel safe and happy. And last but not least, it strengthens our connection with nature, which in modern times we too often lose.

Because of these facts, this is the second MAIN reason for placing it in the garden. If we truly want to create a feeling of homeliness in our house, then we simply must have it, because it gives us the feeling of a truly warm home.

In the end, the decision to place wood in the garden is, of course, yours. With today’s post, we wanted to present a slightly different perspective on it. A perspective that reveals the emotional aspect of wood in the garden and explains why so many people choose it. It does not only complement the architecture of the garden, but also fills the prehistoric void that gaped within us.
